Great track. Skewby must have been on that same A3C burn out we were on, because this is the first I’ve heard from him since. Good comeback too, this joint is real nice.
Race was a huge topic this episode and we aren’t talkin’ NASCAR. Between the Red Tails movie, MLK Day and Phro being back to the show, it got really racial in the basement this episode, (no finish line). We also reviewed Common’s The Dreamer, The Believer for Blend It or Bump It, visited the Common vs. Drake beef and much more. Let’s go!

Song: Jitta On The Track (J.O.T.T.) – “Friday Night”
And its free….
Okay, I’m going to be honest, this sounds like something I’d expect from Mac Miller or Yelawolf. So to see that it’s an artist from Connecticut is actually a bit of a change I wasn’t expecting… not really.
I sometimes wonder if half of these bloggers even listen to the music they post and do more than simply skim through to make sure the production is tight because I have yet to see anyone address the actual CONTENT of this album.
I swear to God this song has been changing my life this past week. Hot off episode #158, we just spun this song and SmCity just released the video today. The with him, Oddisee on the beat and verse and one of my favorite emerging artists of the moment Phil Ade’ on the track, everything about this song is winning. Check SmCity’s free album The Indie Life: Hate, Love & Money over on DJBooth.net. Shouts to Z!
This has been out for well over a year, but found this behind-the-scenes video interesting in a weird way. To see Gibbs and his producer absolutely inebriated and still do the damn thing is actually kind of impressive.
