It's no secret that Detroit is home to some of the most talented artists in the industry that a lot of people aren't too familiar with (yet). But that's not what amazes me about events like this in the D. Every time we visit these events that pull in a mixture of talent and fans from around Detroit to attend and perform, we're incredibly humbled by the amount of love and the general feeling of family we get. Especially when its for a good cause. This event was no exception.
Even though we were hammered with 2-3 inches of snow in the D and the event suffered a few no-show performers, Detroit still paid a very honorable tribute to it's legendary fallen hip-hop hero, J.Dilla.
More footage from some speakers and presentations at the event as well as performances by Danny Brown and the Nick Speed orchestra are yet to come.
