As much as the dude wants to do the show tonight, he’s sick as hell, (you should hear him on the phone, no wait, no you shouldnt).  Just as well, nobody likes to hear a dude with sinus problems on the mic.  And Phro and myself don’t want to be locked in a small room with the Major for 3+ hours.  No offense Major lol.  So unfortunately, we are postponing the live recording of Episode #114 off until next Thursday (June 3, 2010).  In the meantime, we’ll be working on another interview for the show , we’ve got some great music waiting to be spun, the stashbox will be back along with “Blend it or Bump it”.

Here’s some footage from the summer that we just got posted up on the Youtube channel.  While we were walking the streets in Royal Oak, we were all trying to come up with ways we could give away the HoodHype t-shirts we had.   Then out of the blue, Phro approached a group of people on the corner and created a game off the dome, he likes to call “What the F**K” hosted by none other than himself and the venerable Major himself, (video shot by me lol).

So when you see Phro saying “record this…ready?”, he really did just come up with this bullshit off the top of his head and it actually ended up being kind of fun. I hope we get a chance to do it again and serve up another installment of the classic game “What the F**K”.  Stay tuned!

Episode 50 is here baby! We kicked off our 7 city hip-hop tour “Block 2 Block” in M.I.A.  We talked about Miami’s influence on hip-hop, its transition over the past few years and alot more. From the Miami bass music of the 80′s, all the way to today’s new Miami sound, we covered it all. We also got a chance to holla at one half of Miami’s hottest production team, Cool from Cool N’ Dre. He touched on what goes into making a hot track, and some of their newest business moves. Later in the show, we have an exclusive interview with Billy Corben, the Director of Cocaine Cowboys, the documentary that covers Miami’s infamous drug trade and how it impacted the city’s growth and rise in popularity. Billy was candid and shared a lot of insight on the first film and even provided some ill teasers about the forthcoming follow-up, Cocaine Cowboys II: The Godmother Returns. As if that wasn’t enough, we caught up with GIF , winner for Episode #48, and talked about the idea behind his track “No Born I.D.”, and his upcoming plans. The music in Episode #50 is fire, and features artists strictly from the Metro Miami area. This show is so big we had to break it up into two pieces, but take the time to download both of them and enjoy M.I.A.. The next episode in this series will feature Houston, Texas, so artists from H-Town get your tracks in.
