Unfortunate that this had to be a leak of an incomplete track, but man, J.Cole is doing his damn thing yet again. This dude’s album is gonna be phenomenal.

Banner and 9th talk about and preview a couple of the singles from their upcoming album Death of a Pop Star which still has yet to announce a release date. Aside from the upcoming J.Cole and Kooley High albums, this has to be one of my favorite picks for this year. Can’t wait to check it out.
Man I just had a kid, the past week and a half I’ve been completely out of the loop getting beat down mentally and physically. But everything is good and I couldn’t be happier to come back with a joint like this. Damn, this dude KAZE North Carolina goes hard as hell.
You gotta give North Carolina a standing ovation for the past two years, because MC’s comin out of that state are putting in major work.
Quick side note, has anyone been seeing the surge in incredibly good indie music? Just saaaayin…… we saw it comin 5 years ago, and it’s so damn good to see it really poppin off in 2010.
In Chicago for the Heineken Inspire show at The Ravenswood Event Center, iLLRoots.com spoke with J.Cole about his recent video and his upcoming album. J.Cole is gonna be something else. On one side, you’ve got the rappers who work so hard at making buzz and marketing and handling “business” they forget the people who are listening, and then you have a few laid back in-the-cut type dudes like this who let their creativity speak for itself. I haven’t seen any b.s. over-the-top Diddy marketing, I haven’t seen any annoying MTV commercials for his upcoming album, and most importantly he doesn’t have a crew of thirty other people trying to get on, flooding him off the stage.
You can’t say “J.Cole is the next [insert influential artist name here]” because this kid’s in a lane all his own.
