While back stage for Slum Village's set at A3C Hip-Hop Festival, we caught up with Rapper Big Pooh to ask him about his current projects and that everlasting question, will we ever see Little Brother reunite.

More footage coming soon!

Last Episode of the Show we knew we would be discussing the Trayvon Martin case. What we didn't realize, was that the topic would take over and inadvertently rewrite the entire episode for four straight hours all on its own. With the hosts and the listeners, it was an incredibly heated debate at times, which reached a climax when an assistant high-school principal and long-time listener from the Sanford, Florida area called into the show. Everything came to a complete halt as we listened some of his personal dealings with the Sanford Police Department as well as a few other mishandled cases which the locals seem to be very familiar with.  Incredibly eye opening and disturbing at the same time.  Read the rest of this entry »

We caught up with 9th at the New Era store meet and greet for the A3C festival in Atlanta, GA and he was pretty tired from burning the midnight oil the previous night.  Keep your ears open for Phro's signature "HAAAAA!" off in the background when 9th speaks on anything having to do with race lol.

In part two of Major's interview with Jon Connor he discusses his upcoming release Vinnie Chase: Season 2, one of NYC's hardest working independent MC's Donny Goines steps in to speak a word or two on Connor as well as a brief discussion on the track Jon recorded at Stankonia studios with Joe Scudda and Termanology while in ATL for A3C.  #thatshitcray.

During episode #141 of the show, we reviewed Killer Mike's album PL3DGE for the "Blend It or Bump It" segment.  While his album did pass (if an album fails the review, we literally...throw it in our blender on the show) , PL3DGE only received two out of a possible three votes on the show. While Phro and I thumbed it up, Major felt otherwise.

If you've ever tuned into the show live, you know about the random nature of call ins and interviews.  Episode #141 was no exception.  Mike caught wind of us reviewing the album and decided to call in post-show to have a debate with Major.  So they both picked apart the tracks Major wasn't feeling, one by one.... and the audio below is how it all came about.  In addition, Mike also touched on his upcoming work and his new upcoming group with Pill and Big Boi.

You gotta hand it to Mike, he came with a strong argument and justification for every single track anyone disagreed with and argued each and every point without taking it personally.  Much respect to Mike Bigga.  Cop this man's album stat.

HoodHype debate with Killer Mike

This is by far one of my favorite moments on the show in our five years of doing this.

Make sure you cop Mike Bigga's PL3DGE.  "It's a lifestyle album"

In celebration of Crown Royal Black's partnership with Big Boi, cameras went behind the scenes to document Big Boi in compelling moments of his life and career that showcase his definition of "The Crown Life." The short film lets audiences into Big Boi's life as he performed during the 2011 Grammy Awards weekend; inside his studio, Stankonia, as he prepares for his latest projects; and an evening out on the town in his hometown of Atlanta with stops at his favorite spots to unwind.

The film is directed by Hudson Dusters for Greenpoint Pictures.

What can I say? We were grateful to be given the opportunity to squeeze in a quick interview with K.R.I.T. before his show here in Michigan. K.R.I.T. was an incredibly humble, laid back dude and was every bit as appreciative of what we do as we are of his work.

Nardwuar never ceases to amaze me as one of the most talented interviewers I've ever seen. I keep waiting for Wayne to have that initial "Oh shit!" face that you see on most of Nardwuar's interviews, oh wait there it is...(7:05 mark). Nard does it EVERY time.... pay attention!
