LIVE from Criminal Records with KonsoleKingz in Atlanta, Georgia for the A3C Hip-Hop Festival, we brought a different kind of episode this week. Live interviews, Live freestyles, some great music, our special guest host Arablak and much more! Thanks to all our listeners who sent us down everyone who tuned and all the artists that came through for this special episode!
Okay maybe Episode 129 WASN'T our last show of 2010. But this one is. Enjoy some of our favorite tracks from past episodes of this year and make sure you pay close attention to the first song in this episode. HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR YALL!!
This is hip-hop. Everything from the gritty video to the great beat and sick lyrics Arablak, who happens to be a long-time friend of the HoodHype Show (through multiple spins of his music, call-ins as well as a regular contributor to show topics) should be a perfect example of how you can do it right.
Arablak has managed to encapsulate everything that's missing from mainstream hip-hop into a single video. Everything from lyricism to the visuals and the gritty low-budget looking video, not to mention the lack of bouncing asses and ferarris. He's obviously a dude who truly loves and enjoys what he's doing. It's infectious and motivating to a hip-hop nerd like me.
Had a GREAT time, more fun than usual this time. Even though all of our scheduled interviews completely fell through, it was a great time. After going back and forth with the chatters we decided to try to get Bobby Creekwater on the phone to talk about some label politics over at Interscope, Eminem's album and more. Fun show, great time, hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording this episode! Six incredibly hot new indie hip-hop tracks this episode as well as an interview with Cash Clepto who you voted for your favorite for Episode #89.
