After hearing the "Black & Brown" single on Black Milk's Album of the Year last year, like many of you, I couldn't stop playing the song on repeat.  Danny Brown seemed to settle right in on a Black Milk production, and it was infectious.  So when I heard this collab album Black and Brown was being put together, I was overwhelmed with anticipation.  And now after listening to the album, it was for good reason.  Like Guru (or Royce Da 5'9") to DJ Premiere, or Eric B to Rakim, or Snoop Dogg to Dr. Dre,  it feels like one of Black Milk's purposes for being a producer was to create music for one of Detroit's most prolific MC's (that would be Danny Brown).   It just fits.... perfectly.  Although it seems like a very experimental, and sometimes off-in-left-field kind of album,  next to Elzhi's Elmatic, this has to be one of the best albums to come out of the D's independent scene this year.
