Detroit mainstay, (and guy I see at EVERY St. Andrew's Hip-Hop show) Marv Won taking all you terrible rappers to church for two straight minutes. Sit up, put your hands up, confess and repent your sins.

Keep your eyes peeled for more from these guys from us. I was late to the party, heard them on WDET, did a little homework and uncovered a gold mine.

On our way to the Detroit Electronic Music festival, we caught word (via Twitter) that Bun B, Eve, David Hasselhoff, the Dudesons, and a ton of other celebs were coming through in their super luxury and sports whips for the Gumball 3000 rally.

Music by Detroit's own:

I've been to some independent hip-hop events over the years and experienced quite a few performances.   After your first few,  you start to realize how tough it is for an artist to be heard let alone move a crowd of people who are there to see the headlining act, which a lot of times,  is also independent.

As a fan of the music, it's easy to get burnt out.  Between the rappers devoid of emotion who pace the stage with a blank stare and so-called "artists" who open for label acts but seem to lack any sort of passion, it is very easy to get burnt out and never visit an indie show again. All too often, I'll see and hear stories about artists who have been in the "business" for a long time and tend stay below the radar.  Sometimes intentionally, sometimes not.  Whichever the case is for The Definition is irrelevant because these guys are easily one of Detroit's best kept secrets.   Made up of a drummer, bass guitarist, a keyboardist, a classically trained electric cellist (yes, thats right) and hard hitter spitter MC front man (Mola1), these guys are known for their crazy shows, that a lot of times,  will outperform the acts they open for....

If you're in the metro-Detroit area, you would be crazy to miss this show at the Crofoot in Pontiac with The Definition, Detroit's Paradime and headliner Action Bronson this Friday (5/25).  Make sure you support that REAL indie hip-hop and buy some tickets to this show!  We'll definitely be in the  house too!

Also, front man MOLA1 will be LIVE on the show with us tonight!

Produced by Detroit's own Peace of Mind and shot and directed by Detroit's own Gerard Victor.  There's kind of an interesting story behind this video too.  The song is a banger, video is well done, I think they did a good job given that they were working with draft footage.

Street Justice video for "Wish You Would" from the "Follow The Drip" Mixtape. We shot this video over a year ago. The original footage was stolen along with @reddhanded's harddrive, so we decided just to put out the first edited draft.

We've been following these cat's for well over a year now and it's a real good look to see Red Bull is following them around for a mini-doc.  Very cool. Glad to see them still making moves.

I remember as Phro and I were at the Red Bull Emsee challenge waiting to interview with Royce the day they were filming this at St. Andrews.  He was caught up across the street with a group chattin' it up and we thought, "man  that's a hell of a big group of people to be running an interview".  Little did we know they were filming this doc (6:00 Mark), if they would have panned the camera just a little to the left, you probably would have caught a myself, Phro and our photographer Matt speaking with Bun B and Trick Trick across the street.  We could have been movie stars.  So close.

Peep photos here from that event here

We're all back and having a great time (thanks sweet baby Jesus).  Tons of new music, Hip-Hop Fight Club West Coast went down and Obie Trice's Bottom's Up was on the chopping block for Blend It or Bump It.  Let's go!

The Dallas Texas duo (Slim Gravy & Paris Pershun) perform their (Black Milk produced) track at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, Michigan for their Claps & Slaps Tour with Black Milk and Seattle Washington's J.Pinder.

I've been following A.Dd+ for just about two years now, so it goes without saying that I'm a huge fan of their work.  This tour is a good look and I hope these dudes absolutely rip it at SXSW.  Much respect.

Flix: Flix Big D shot of A.dD+ at the show here.

Previous Flix: Flix Matt shot of us interviewing A.dD+ at A3C here.

If this is anything like Black Milk's album release show for his "Album of the Year" you all are in for a hell of a show.  Not to mention Texas' own, A.Dd+ puts on a great show too (saw them at A3c).  We'll be in the house at the Blind Pig (Ann Arbor, MI stop) to get some footage!  Official rundown and tour schedule after the jump.
