Produced by the D's own Mr. Porter.

I'm loving this on a sonic level which is an area I think hip-hop is purely overlooked by many.   What am I talking about?  Take a minute, when your boss isn't looking or your girlfriend/wifey is pre-occupied and won't make fun of you. Close your eyes and hit play on this one.  Take a minute to listen to all the shit going on in this track.  Literally close your eyes, set the actual words aside for a second (although this joint is a lyrical champ to say the least), feel the kick the rhythm of the flow the way that sample is dipping in and out, the sound of the voices.  See what I'm saying?   There's definitely something to be said about hip-hop technically and sonically that a lot of music heads (nerds) tend to completely ignore based on their assumption that hip-hop is lazy, cheap music.

Will Phro chastise me and pause police the hell out of some of wording in this post?  Sure.  Will Major roll his eyes and call me a fake musical elitist prick?  Maybe.  But one thing is for sure, you can't deny a hot ass cut... and that's exactly what this is.  Cop Clear Soul Forces album at their bandcamp page.

Shouts to the homie FWMJ by way of MichiganHipHop (what up Mos) where I spotted this.

Danny Brown is in my top 3 favorite MC's out of Detroit right now, and I'm excited as hell to see him perform at the HexMurda Benefit on Oct 17.   Here is D.Brown chillin and spittin a freestyle with DJ Quiz and the fam FWMJ from  His flow seems basic at first, but pay attention to Danny's lyrics.  Don't let the crazy hat and glasses fool you.

Peep Danny Browns FREE mixtapes here, here, here and here.  Coincidentally, we just spun a track off Danny Brown's "Detroit State of Mind Vol. 3" right here as well.

This episode we spoke with FWMJ, owner of and design guru over at New York's Hot97 to talk  about his site and some of the label politics hip-hop radio stations like Hot97 face.  We also discussed the Asher Roth Twitter incident (link in the notes below) as well as a few other topics which actually shook some of you out of the woodwork to give us a call.

Roger Riley & Teddy Troutman
If you listen to the show regularly, you've definitely heard us speak on Roger Riley & Teddy Troutman's Death Of Autotune  (click the link to download their full album).  And if you've tuned into the live shows, you probably heard us record this live during the last episode.  Anyway, we had a chance to sit down and talk with these guys and discuss everything from Kanye to T-Pain.  It was kind of weird though, the dudes came in with microphones duct taped to their mouths and laptops in their backpacks.

Big shout to FWMJ at for making it happen!
