The Big Homie D and I went to the Black Milk album release party at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit and like I said before, one of the craziest hip-hop experiences I've had in my life.  I feel blessed we were able to get some footage, especially of this excellent tribute to a few of hip-hop's fallen Detroit soldiers.

I still have alot more footage to post, here's a few you may not have seen yet:

Video: Black Milk opens his set with "Long Story Short", "365" and "Welcome"

Video: Black Milk performs "Give The Drummer Some", "Shut It Down" and a remix of a song I can't seem to make out.  ITS FIRE THOUGH! lol

Video: Black Milk performs "Deadly Medley with Royce Da 5'9" & Ezhi and "Losing Out" with Royce as well.

Personally, this is one of my most anticipated albums this year next to J.Cole's album.  Can't wait.  September 14th!  With any luck we'll be at the album release party, and with even more luck we'll be able to get in and get some footage with the camera, provided @hexmurda doesn't murder all of us.

I wonder if they blurred out the 10 Deep logo on Black Milk's hoodie because of how they did Danny Brown....

Here's a mini-documentary CurrentTV featuring Guilty Simpson and Black Milk.  Guilt and Black took Current on a mini-tour of Detroit, to spots like St. Andrews (and The Shelter), Studio One and The Record Collector.  I'm actually surprised and happy that the interviewer for CurrentTV addressed the fact that not too many venues in the D support Detroit hip-hop.  Even though they have a dedicated and loyal fanbase along with a SUPER tightly knit hip-hop community, the city's venues are too concerned about the negativity.  They need to stop worrying about the crowds and start opening more of their doors to see how cool the D's hip-hop scene really is.

It was also funny to hear them speak on 8-mile for a second because I feel everything they're saying.  There is nothing happening on that strip other than Eminem's hollywood influence.   One of these days I should get out the camera and take you all for a virtual ride down 8-mile so you can see what they're talking about.

Shouts to St. Andrews, Alvin's, Northern Lights and of course you can't forget about Oslo

Detroit did hip-hop fans real proud this night as everyone came together to support hip-hop manager /impresario / AllHipHop.com writer / Twitter extraordinaire HexMurda. Not only was there a great turnout and a really positive vibe, but the shows were off the hook and the crowd was full of energy. We met a lot of great people that night and saw ALOT of great artists rippin up the stage.

I feel sick that I not only had to knock the hour of footage down to 25 minutes, but I also had to break it up into three 10-minute videos (youtube). If you have any suggestions for somewhere I can upload a full hour of footage, let me know as I'd love to post the entire hour of footage somewhere.

My apologies for the shaky flip cam and distorted audio. Alot of excitement, a few drinks (more than a few), and being 3 feet from the stage speakers will do that lol.

Big shouts to the homies M.E.D., DetroitRap.com and MichiganHipHop.com who were also in the building.

Parts 2 & 3 after the jump...

One of the highlights of the show, Alchemist dropped in real quick to show some respect.  Rude Jude from the All Out Show on Shade45 (sirius) hosted the whole benefit and did a bang up job.  It was a hell of a show, even though Royce didn't show up, Detroit represented to the FULLEST.  I learned about a few new indie artists I haven't heard yet and met a bunch of great people there as well.

I have over an hour of footage I'm still working on from this show that I'll be wrapping up editing on this week.  Until then, keep your eyes peeled for more clips!
