Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail album officially dropped on today on July 8, 2013 and started what could be the beginning of a complete musical revolution. What does this have to do with independent hip-hop?
We talk about social media and the new power some of these celebrities have with their following, reviewed Watch The Throne for Blend It or Bump It, we had a gang of audio issues, JMack eats pickled pigs feet after losing a bet with Major and more!
Huge fans of what J.Cole is doing, I only hope his album reflects what he's been putting out for free. Here's the SECOND installment of his "Cole World" video blog he's been putting out. Feel bad I missed episode one, if you did too, you can check it out here.
We had to put our last episode on hold. We're sorry. So here's a special bonus remix episode to hold you over until episode #144 which we'll be recording tomorrow! We call this the "remix-mini-episode". Full of some great hip-hop remixes you may have never heard.
We're happy to be back for our first show of 2011! In this ep we talked about Cipha Sounds getting suspended at Hot97, Ghostface's Apollo Kids was on the chopping block for Blend it or bump it, we ran with HoodHype's hip-hop Fight Club for the West Coast (listen in to find out who took the West Coast bracket) and JMack getting the verbal whipping by a rapper on twitter. This and a lot more! Download this ep and listen in!
Last nights show with Eminem and Jay-Z at Comerica Park in the D last night looks like it was sick as hell. However, word is Em was spittin over his own vocals, so that kinda sucked, but it looks like Jay-Z murked the whole show. Damn. Hit the cut to see a shit-ton more footage from the show with BoB, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Jeezy, Drake and a LOT more.
Here's a mini-episode featuring music that you can play safely around young kids and some music your mom would smack you in the back of the head for playing around the little ones. Yeah, they are major label releases, but it's a mini-episode! Anything goes, even bringing Major in on this one!
I wasn't going to post this because really, I grow tired of listening to some people complain about irrelevant crap most people don't care about. But the last part was pretty funny and I completely agree with Jay on this one. C'mon 50 and Jay just give us a soap opera to check out, as a Christmas gift.
True it would be about the same as the WWF King Kong Bundy vs Hulk Hogan Cage match, we all know who would win. You know damn well we'd all watch it and love it.
This looks like it's from backstage at the Hard Knock tour in 1999. But being I'm not a journalist I'm not gonna do the homework. Posted for all of our enjoyment in light of this.
