I'm just wondering why we don't see more hometown collaborations like this with these dudes.  So far we've got this and the track "Sookie Now" from KRIT's R4 album.  So who's gonna be the first to get on a track with the newest spitter from MS, Tito Lopez?

I was just saying the other day on twitter, can we get a KRIT x Banner x Tito Lopez supergroup?  Call them "Mississippi Burning".  I need to copyright that.

Ever since I saw this dude's freestyle video (below) last year, I've been waiting for him to drop some new material.  Keep an eye out for this cat from Mississippi named Tito Lopez, he's about to cause some problems for a lot of people.

Granted it sounds a lil messy and distorted (shouts to smartphone cameras) but how cool would it be to see your creation performed by a college band?  Props to their conductor and to K.R.I.T. who's humble ass deserves every bit of notoriety he's getting right now.

Thank you Big K.R.I.T.

I know that you're doing your best to create incredible music to share despite these so-called bloggers who refuse to have an opinion one way or the other and blindly post this video with absolutely no thoughts or semblance of appreciation. Who knows if they even watch, read or listen to half the stuff they post.

I'll try to keep this short, you know that it's really tough for me to do that when I get excited about music.

This morning I sat down and no sooner had I taken a sip of my morning coffee (with Cask & Creme), the homie D said "Yo I just listened to that Tito Lopez freestyle 5 times on YouTube." Talking like I should already know who the hell he's speaking about.  "Tito Lopez?" I asked.  " Sounds like a delicious mexican beer", I thought.   Then he hit me with a link to the above video.

And this, my friends, is the very reason we even started The HoodHype Show five years ago.  There are so many incredible, lyrical, creative and passionate artists out there we rarely hear about unless you catch them in a random video in Dr. Dre's kitchen with Stat Quo.  This guy has a raw God given talent.  This is why I'll never get tired of listening to and supporting independent hip-hop, this is why I'll be doing what I do until I'm six feet under.

So thank you Tito Lopez.   You've just thrown fuel on the proverbial fire cousin. These made-for-radio acts have no idea what's comin.   It's artists like you are going to turn this God forsaken industry on it's head.  Like Dre said at the end, "The voice of the underdog, I like it"

Shouts to Mississippi and keep an eye out for his upcoming album The King's Speech.

What can I say? We were grateful to be given the opportunity to squeeze in a quick interview with K.R.I.T. before his show here in Michigan. K.R.I.T. was an incredibly humble, laid back dude and was every bit as appreciative of what we do as we are of his work.

Hard to believe this is a free album, because K.R.I.T. has reset the bar incredibly high for himself yet again.  When I thought there would  be no way he could outdo K.R.I.T. Wuz Here he went and dropped this  album.  21 tracks of incredibly well produced, consistent, lyrical, soulful free music and we can't thank K.R.I.T. enough for lookin' out for all us fans.

K.R.I.T. managed to make a die hard fan over here, I'm buying whatever this guy puts out from now on.

Free album download and artwork after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Another track not from K.R.I.T. Wuz Here and most definitely a very welcome addition to your Big K.R.I.T. music collection.  He still has yet to disappoint if ever.

Peep the interview we had with K.R.I.T. in episode #121.

Aside from our long awaited interview with the infamous independent and more recently recently Def Jam signee Big K.R.I.T., we had a real good time this episode seeing Phro off for his wedding (he'll be back in a couple episodes, but until then, look out for some special guests to fill the seat!).  This episode we spoke on Tila Tequila & Method Man vs. The Juggalos, 50 prank calling Shyne, Detox not living up to the hype, Jeezy vs. Officer Ricky and much more.
