We live in a time where hip-hop is hard to come by.  Music that just doesn't give a damn about the status quo.  Luckily we have artists like Phips here that's on his grizzly at all times with the lyrical content and the oddly mixed, sample laden backdrops that force you to pay attention to what the man is saying.

This is what it's all about. No need for shiny things, big bass boom and high hat tings.

It seemed we were cursed by the technical difficulty demons this episode, but we still pulled through it.  With the recent news of Osama bin Laden's death we strayed from hip-hop a little and spent quite a bit of time discussing cosnpiracy theories as well as trying to debunk them. BIG shouts to Illingsworth from Detroit CYDI for the #TeamMayo theme song!

LIVE @ Atlanta's Masquerade, which happens to be the same spot they host the A3C Hip-Hop Festival every year. Completely missed out on Kendrick's show last night at the Shelter in Detroit with Nesby and Schoolboy Q, so this will do until people start dropping some footage from the event.

I have to be completely honest, until recently I didn't put a whole lot into listening to Kendrick.  I'd hear singles here and there but never took the time to get the albums he put out.  Glad I did though, the guy is definitely putting out music outside the norm... and it's good.  Jay West and Phips have been on the radar for a while already.  Who are you following right now?

Nesby is on some other level of hip-hop that some people may not up on.  I for one am not one of those people and I've been following this dude's music tough since A3C.  Probably one of my favorite tracks by Nesby, but still not sleepin on that Easy Peezy Japaneezy. Let's journey with  Phips and see what comes of these here Bo Jacksons....

If you caught me walkin' around A3C this year with KingSoul from KonsoleKingz, then you know the camera stays in hand at all times.   This explains why I have over four hours of footage that I pulled and edited down to 10 minutes, I wish I could just upload all of it somewhere.

Here is some more of Mike Bigga and Immortal Technique's performances as well as performances by Homeboy Sandman, Stalley, Tanya Morgan, Nappy Roots, Reks n Statik Selektah, Nesby Phips and Artifacts.

I already can't wait to go to A3C 2011, you should go too.

Phro brought "AGoody" back to the basement with a complete collection of liquor.  Needless to say the show kicked off to a great start.  We spun some incredible music, JMack talked about his visit to the A3C festival in Atlanta, GA in the US and we got into a big debate over older women.  We had a GREAT time this episode, especially when the "yac" started to kick in.
