It's no secret that Detroit is home to some of the most talented artists in the industry that a lot of people aren't too familiar with (yet). But that's not what amazes me about events like this in the D. Every time we visit these events that pull in a mixture of talent and fans from around Detroit to attend and perform, we're incredibly humbled by the amount of love and the general feeling of family we get. Especially when its for a good cause. This event was no exception.
Even though we were hammered with 2-3 inches of snow in the D and the event suffered a few no-show performers, Detroit still paid a very honorable tribute to it's legendary fallen hip-hop hero, J.Dilla.
More footage from some speakers and presentations at the event as well as performances by Danny Brown and the Nick Speed orchestra are yet to come.
What up doe?! Here's a new one from one of Detroit's own, hosted by T3 of Slum Village.
There's a reason you've been hearing a lot of bubble from the D the past couple years, and Magestic Legend is yet another one of many talented artists coming out of "the mitten" causing that buzz.
Is your city starting to buzz with it's own sound? Please hit us up! We wanna hear about it!
This is a joint has been in the HH Live show rotation for a while, but now we have some imagery to go with the track. "Deep" is definitely one of my favorite cuts off The Leftovers UnMixedTape. Black Milk murdered the beat, and Elzhi proves why he's one of the dopest MC's out. It's about time more people take notice.
Ro and Chef over at Burn Rubber are cookin up some more of that good Detroit goodness.  Track comin up next!
Burn Rubber and Acapulgo Gold have come together to mash up a special collaboration entiltled "Detroit Riots", which pays homage to the Motor City and calls remembrance to the riots of 1967; a turning point in the city's saturated history. Burn Rubber will be releasing the Detroit Riots gear on December 26th.
To coincide with the marvelous Burn Rubber x Acapulco Gold joint venture a star studded team of emcees have come together to create the anthem for the 'Riot' gear. The home grown cast includes T3 (Slum Village), One Be Lo, Ro Spit, Black Milk, Marvwon, Buff1, Fat Ray, Phatboy Chef, and Fatt Father. In addition to the song there are special ringtones and wallpapers available for everyone to grab.
Short joint from Slum Village with T3 going off over a Young RJ track. Be sure to check out the Villa Manifesto EP available on iTunes now. Props to OnSmash.
New joint produced by Madlib off the Villa Manifesto EP which will be available thru digital retailers tomorrow. Check out the video of T3 explaining Slum's history after the jump.

It's always good to come across more free music, especially when it's from an MC like eLZhi. The Leftovers project is a collection of promo's, unreleased material, and previous collabos, and it's a good listen the whole way through.

I love this kind of footage, where cats are in the studio putting in the work. I thought the first track that T3 played by the dude Billy Beats sounded kind of hot before he cut it off. The Villa Manifesto Digital EP, will be available online Dec. 15th, so if you're a producer hurry up and get your beats in, you might have time to make the cut.
