This episode we've each selected three songs that sparked a memory, inspired, or reminded us of a certain event in our lives and we're discussing them. Â What are some hip-hop tracks that bring back memories for you?
Last year we went to this event and had an absolutely incredible experience with the people, the vibe and the performances at the show.  Expect nothing less this year, HoodHype will be in the building shooting performances, interviews and photos.  Be sure to follow HoodHype on Twitter/Instagram and Facebook  or follow MOLA1 on Twitter/Instagram to get updates throughout the show!
Come join us at the Fillmore Theater in Detroit, it going to be an incredible show!
Five years we've been doing this. A simple thank you would never be enough for your support and listening to our show. To kick off our fifth year episode we gave away a copy of NBA2k11 live on the show, ran through the stash box and previewed Statik Selektah & Termanology's album 1982 for "Blend It or Bump It". Half way through Statik called in randomly to talk about the album and what he's been working on. That, a ton of phenomenal music (as always) and a lot more.
New joint by Reflection Eternal (Talib Kweli + DJ Hi Tek), featuring some pretty powerful visuals directed by Sam Ellison.
This candidly critical indictment of the oil industry could not have come at a more appropriate time in the wake of BP's disaster in the Gulf Coast that, 80 days later, has yet to be completely resolved.
Dope video from Reflection Eternal. They managed to do a good job of taking on the nasty topic of oil without coming off too preachy, and that ain't easy to do. Revolutions Per Minute is in stores now.
BlackSmith doesn't take breaks it seems. Check out this free album hosted by DJ Chaps to hold you over until Reflection Eternal's Revolutions Per Minute drops next month. It's free and definitely worth the download and space on your ipod.
Download link, artwork and full tracklist after the jump!
Heres another full free album being called a mixtape for you to download. I think 2009 was the year of the free album if you ask me, and I hop it continues, because damn... who doesn't like free music? Presented by Statik Selektah, this street album features a few exclusive cuts off of Kweli and Hi-Tek's upcoming commercial release Revolutions Per Minute due out February 2010.  Tracklist, artwork and most importantly the download link are all after the jump!
Spotted this cut over @ Nahright, and apparently this track will appear on Talib & Hi-Tek's The Re:Union project, as well as Statik's100 Proof: The Hangover.
